Dear Tagged Users,
We have the utmost concern for your safety and security at Tagged and we'd like to update you on a recent security issue that many concerned users brought to our attention.
On Sunday, October 9th, many Tagged users were attacked by a string of fake 'iPad' spam messages, which started spreading rapidly across our site. Our security team quickly identified and closed the vulnerability, and is now removing all of the offending messages from the site.
It's impossible to know the extent of the security issue, but we believe that no user data has been compromised. We still advise all users not to open any further instances of this message. Instead, simply delete the messages or avoid them entirely while our team handles the situation. We also recommend that all affected users take the following security precautions:
To prevent further harm, communication features have been temporarily suspended for some affected users as we isolate and remove the rest of this content. We're striving to restore all functionality to our users as soon as possible! If you still have problems accessing your account or using account features such as messages, comments or tags after October 13th, 1:00pm Pacific time, please contact us immediately for assistance.
In response to this attack, we've conducted a security review of our communication features and made a number of changes to deter future security threats. Thank you for your patience as we build a safer Tagged for you!
